Our Philosophy

Our Practice is a service provider focused on offering high-quality primary health care service for the men, women and children of our local community. Our aim is to create a hub where GP’s can offer holistic medical care focused on the provision of excellence in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic illness with an emphasis on preventative health care.

We recognize the value of an ongoing relationship with both GP’s and their patients over time and endeavour to foster continuity of care. We respect patient’s rights and encourage patient responsibility in the management of their health and are proactive in response to the specific needs of GPs patients and aim for optimal outcomes in their contact with the wider health system.

The practice also promotes mentoring and teaching of medical & nursing students as well as doctors who are specialising in General Practice to foster excellence in GPs & nurses of the future.

Consulting Hours

RFMP is open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Fridays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. On Wednesdays, the Practice is closed between 1pm to 2pm for Practice Meetings. The Practice is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Some GPs provide home visits for their regular patients during normal practice hours – please speak with your GP or the Administration Team if a home visit is required.

For medical care outside of these hours, please call the National Home Doctor Service on 13 74 25 (13 SICK) or visit your nearest hospital. If you do require care elsewhere, to ensure continuity of care please provide details at your next appointment with your GP or feel free to call the team and advise.

Appointment Protocol

Consultations are pre-booked with your regular GP. Each day, there are consultation times reserved for urgent matters so please ring or go online as soon as you think you may require an appointment. We will endeavour to provide you a consultation with your regular GP, however if your GP is unavailable, we will book you in with one of the other GPs. To ensure continuity of care, all of the GPs are able to access patient files and will correspond with your usual GP and update your records. It is recommended that you discuss having a secondary GP for times where you are unable to see your regular GP.

To assist both you and your GP, please request an appointment length that matches the complexity or number of concerns you will to raise with your GP. If the selected appointment time is not adequate to address all of your concerns, you may need to come back or reschedule your appointment. If you are unsure how long you may require, please call and speak with the Administration team who can assist you.
