Dr Kiran Shrestha – Occupational Medicine Services

Dr Shrestha holds a Clinical Certificate in Occupational Medicine (Monash University), is a Certified MAXHEALTH Doctor (formerly InjuryNet), and is an Authorised Railway Medical Examiner for Categories 1, 2 & 3.

WorkCover & Workplace Injuries

Dr Shrestha provides comprehensive management of work-related injuries in accordance with SIRA (NSW) guidelines.

    • Initial workplace injury consultations
    • Certificates of Capacity
    • Return-to-work planning with employers
    • Referrals to physiotherapy, imaging, and specialists
    • Ongoing injury management and review
    • Liaison with insurers and case managers

Tip for patients:  Please obtain your claim number from your employer/insurer before your appointment.  This allows the consultation to be billed directly to the insurer at the approved SIRA rate.

Pre-Employment Medicals

Pre-employment medicals provide a baseline health assessment to ensure fitness for the specific role, reduce workplace risks and meet WHS obligations.

Common assessments include:

    • Blood pressure, BMI, and urinalysis
    • Vision and hearing (audiometry)
    • Musculoskeletal and cardiovascular examination
    • Spirometry / lung function (when required)
    • Drug & alcohol screening (when required)

Dr Shrestha is a Certified MAXHEALTH Doctor, experienced in detailed fitness-for-duty assessments used by employers across Australia.

Pre-employment and Railway medicals must be booked via reception on

(02) 9627 0600 to allow sufficient time for doctor and nurse assessments. 

Please arrive 30 minutes early for paperwork.

Railway Medicals (Categories 1, 2 & 3)

Dr Shrestha is an accredited examiner under the National Standard for Health Assessment of Rail Safety Workers.

  • Category 1 — Safety-critical roles (e.g. train drivers)
  • Category 2 — Track-side / rail corridor workers
  • Category 3 — Other rail safety workers
  • Vision and audiometry
  • Cardiovascular examination
  • Musculoskeletal assessment
  • Psychological screening
  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Spirometry (when required)

Periodic assessments are required as per age and role guidelines.
