Dr Rumi Liyanageamage
Rumi completed her medical degree and internship in Adelaide and then did further training at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, in emergency medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology and general medicine. She broadened her experience at Nepean Hospital in paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, gastroenterology, haematology and emergency medicine. She worked in an Aboriginal Medical Service and in a rural practice in Bathurst before working for 5 years in Windsor and 7 years in Northmead.
Rumi has also been actively involved in teaching doctors in GP training programs and medical students in the Department of General Practice, in the Western Clinical School of the University of Sydney. Since obtaining her fellowship, she has completed a Diploma in Child Health at Westmead Children’s Hospital. She has many years of experience in general practice and enjoys seeing patients of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Her focus is the overall care of the person and the family in the community.
